Rutgers-Camden Athletics

JoAnna Andrews continued her stellar Rutgers-Camden volleyball career as a sophomore while hiking her two-year total to 808 assists. Halfway through her career she ranks seventh on the program’s all-time list for assists. She is only 192 assists shy of becoming the fifth player in program history to reach 1,000 assists as a Scarlet Raptor.
 
Andrews has played in 197 sets over her 53 career matches at Rutgers-Camden, adding 344 digs and 71 aces.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2024-25 scholastic year…Member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2023 Fall, 2024 Fall and 2025 Spring semesters.
 
Volleyball 2024: Played in all 26 matches and 97 sets for the Scarlet Raptors…Finished second on the team with 344 assists and fourth with 178 digs…Added 24 kills and 24 aces…Collected four double-doubles with digs and assists, including 23 assists/11 digs against DeSales (Aug. 31), 22 assists/14 digs against Wilkes (Sept. 14), 10 assists/12 digs against Washington College (Sept. 21) and 20 assists/11 digs against Neumann (Sept. 28)…Notched double-digits in assists during 18 matches, including six matches with 20 or more assists…Her highs of 23 assists came against both DeSales (Aug. 31) and Rutgers-Newark (Oct. 1)…Had five matches with double-digit digs, with the high of 14 during her double-double against Wilkes on Sept. 14 (adding 22 assists)…Collected five service aces against Arcadia (Sept. 28)…Had a high of four kills against Gwynedd Mercy (Oct. 10).
 
Volleyball 2023: Played in all 27 matches and a team-high 100 sets…Led the team with 464 assists, the 11th-highest single-season total in program history…It also was the 14th-highest single-season total of assists per set at 4.64…Led the team with 47 aces…Third on the team with 166 digs…Added 22 kills and a .208 hitting percentage…Led the team with seven double-doubles between assists and digs…Made her collegiate debut against Dickinson (Sept. 1), playing in all five sets and collecting 19 assists, five digs, three aces and one kill…Had her first two double-doubles the next day against DeSales (18 assists, 13 digs) and Clarkson (15 assists, 12 digs)…Set her high of 28 assists against Hunter (Sept. 5) and tied that high in a double-double against Rowan (Sept. 19), adding 10 digs…Also had a double-double against Penn State-Harrisburg (Sept. 16, with 20 assists and 11 digs, while adding her high of five kills), at Rutgers-Newark (Oct. 10, 17 assists and 11 digs), at Wilkes (Oct. 28, 19 assists and a season-high 15 digs) and at Goucher (Nov. 4, 14 assists, 11 digs)…Notched her high of seven service aces against Brooklyn (Oct. 1)…Overall, collected double-digit assists in 25 of her 27 matches and double-digit digs on seven occasions.
 
High School: Captured three varsity letters apiece in volleyball and softball at Williamstown High School…Named 2021 New Jersey Volleyball Gatorade Player of the Year and 2021 NJ.com Player of the Year for Braves Coach Chris Sheppard…All-State First Team in both 2021 and 2022…All-Group First Team in 2021 and 2022…All-Conference in 2021 and 2022…Honor Roll every marking period from freshman through junior year…Principal’s List as a senior…Graduated in 2023.

Personal: Born February 4, 2005…Nicknamed “Jo”…Hobbies include swimming, snowboarding, reading, shopping and baking…Member of the Rutgers-Camden Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)…Nursing major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to take two years off after graduation to work at Jefferson, then go back to college for her Bachelor’s to Doctorate program. After that, she plans to go through Nurse Anesthesiology schooling…JoAnna is the daughter of Kate and Bill Andrews of Williamstown.
