Kayla Benesz finished her Rutgers-Camden career with 884 assists to rank sixth on the program’s all-time list. She averaged 4.97 assists/set, ranking fifth on the career charts.
 
Benesz also added 314 digs in her 64 career matches, covering 178 sets.
 
In addition to her volleyball talents, Benesz is an outstanding Dean’s List student who has earned numerous academic honors, including several semesters with a 4.0 GPA.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2019-20 scholastic year…Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2018 Fall, 2019 Spring, 2019 Fall and 2020 Spring semesters…Dean’s List for the 2019 Spring semester, when she was one of 20 athletes on the 141-member AD Honor Roll to earn a 4.0 GPA…Dean’s List for the 2019 Fall semester, when she was one of 16 athletes on the 148-member AD Honor Roll to earn a 4.0 GPA…Dean’s List for the 2020 Spring semester, when she was one of 47 athletes on the 171-member AD Honor Roll to earn a 4.0 GPA.
 
Volleyball 2021: Appeared in 13 sets over nine matches…Collected one kill, 90 assists, two aces, 21 digs and three assisted blocks…Collected double-digit assists in four matches, with a high of 21 against Drew (Sept. 23), while adding two aces and four digs…Notched 18 assists and four digs against Penn State-Harrisburg (Sept. 19)…Had back-to-back matches with 12 assists against Ramapo (Sept. 28) and Marywood (Oct. 2), adding two assisted blocks and one dig against Ramapo and four digs against Marywood.
 
Volleyball 2020: Didn’t play during the pandemic-shortened season, which was held in March, 2021.
 
Volleyball 2019: Played in all 28 matches, appearing in 70 sets…Second on the team with 415 assists and first in assisted per set (5.93)…Her 415 assists are the 12th-highest season total in program history…Led the team with 39 service aces and a 0.56 average per set…Tied for sixth on the team with 140 digs…Added four block assists…Collected four double-doubles during the season with assists and digs, including matches against Widener Sept. 14 (18 assists, 10 digs), Rutgers-Newark Sept. 17 (15/12), Brooklyn Oct. 19 (24/12) and Wilkes Oct. 26 (19/12)…Notched double-digit assists in 24 of her 28 matches, including 23 of her last 24 matches…Collected over 20 assists on five occasions, including a season high of 26 against Sarah Lawrence College (Oct. 12) and 25 against Messiah (Oct. 26)…Notched four matches with double-digit digs, leading to her four double-doubles…Had a high of seven service aces against Penn State-Abington (Sept. 11) and added six aces against Penn State-Brandywine (Oct. 10)…Collected two kills during both ends of a tri-match against Wilkes and Messiah (Oct. 26).
 
Volleyball 2018: Appeared in 27 matches, starting 11 and playing in 95 sets…Finished second on the team with 379 assists, at the time the 12th-highest single-season mark in program history (now 14th, following the 2019 season)…Her average of 3.99 assists per set was the 15th-highest single-season mark in program history…Added 26 service aces (third on the team), 153 digs (fourth) and five kills…Named to the DeSales Invitational All-Tournament Team (Aug. 31-Sept. 1) after her collegiate debut weekend, in which she notched 61 assists, 20 digs, five service aces and three kills in four matches…Collected four double-doubles with assists and digs during the year, including 19 assists and 12 digs against Gwynedd Mercy (Oct, 13) and 24 assists and 10 digs against Ramapo (Oct. 16)…Collected double digits in assists on 20 occasions, with a high of 27 against New Jersey City (Oct. 23)…In addition to her 24 assists against Ramapo, also had a pair of matches with 21 assists apiece against Brooklyn (Sept. 22) and Rowan (Oct. 9)…Added her season high of four service aces in the Rowan match…Notched her season high of 14 digs, while adding 19 assists, against Wilkes (Sept. 22)…Had 12 digs and 19 assists against Gwynedd Mercy (Oct. 13)…Had her high of two kills against Washington College (Sept. 1).
