Senior Morgan Dempsey played a big role in helping the Rutgers-Camden women’s tennis team win both of its matches over the weekend to hike its record to 5-0. Dempsey won all four of her matches, earning wins at sixth singles against Moravian on Saturday (6-0, 6-1) and York on Sunday (6-3, 6-4). She also combined with senior LeAnne Hall to win at third doubles both days, earning an 8-0 win against Moravian and an 8-3 victory over York. For the season, Dempsey is 4-1 in singles competition and 4-0 in doubles play. After sitting out the pandemic-shortened spring season, Dempsey’s successful return has hiked her career victory totals to 17 in singles matches (eighth on the program’s career list), 16 in doubles play (seventh) and 33 overall (eighth).
