Junior Alexis Marini earned her second Raptor of the Week honor during the 2022-23 indoor track season after posting a PR by shattering the 14-meter mark for the first time in the women’s weight throw. Marini’s throw of 14.02 meters at the Fasttrack National Invitational on Friday helped her finish 16th of 63 athletes in the event, which included numerous Division I athletes. Marini has competed in the weight throw at all five Rutgers-Camden meets this season, breaking her own PR each time. She opened the season with a throw of 11.80 meters on Dec. 2, notched throws of 13.14 meters and 13.53 meters in her next two invitationals and set her short-lived PR of 13.57 meters at the Frank Colden Invitational Feb. 4. She also has competed in the shot put at two invitationals this season. Marini earned her first Raptor of the Week honor on December 12.
