Rutgers-Camden Athletics

Alexis Marini earns her sixth career honor as the Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week, and her first for this scholastic year, after a stellar performance in her first indoor meet of the season. Competing at the St. Thomas Aquinas Spartan Invitational Friday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Center, Marini and the Scarlet Raptors faced a field of competitors that included athletes from all NCAA divisions. She finished third out of 51 athletes in the women’s weight throw – trailing only a pair of throwers from Division I Rider University – with a PR of 14.99 meters. She also placed 23rd out of 48 athletes with a shot put of 9.84 meters. Marini, a senior academically who has junior eligibility for indoor track, earned four Raptor of the Week honors during the 2022-23 scholastic year, with two apiece for indoor and outdoor track. She captured her first Raptor of the Week honor during the 2021-22 indoor track season. She will return for her senior season in outdoor track this spring, where she is the program’s record holder in the discus (37.81 meters).
