Junior southpaw Daniel Robeson turned in a stellar outing on Thursday in Montclair to start a crucial four-game stretch that propelled the Rutgers-Camden baseball team to the fourth seed for the upcoming New Jersey Athletic Conference playoffs. In a game where the Scarlet Raptors and Red Hawks entered with identical 8-6 conference records, Robeson hurled 7.2 innings for his longest outing of the season. He allowed only six hits, one walk and one earned run, leaving the contest with a 2-1 lead. Robeson earned the win in the Scarlet Raptors’ eventual 3-2 victory. His outing set the tone for a 3-1 stretch drive that helped Rutgers-Camden qualify for its first six-team NJAC playoff berth since 2018. For the season, Robeson has made seven starts over nine appearances, hurling 42.1 innings. He owns a deceptive 2-3 record despite a 3.19 ERA. He also has one save.
