Sophomore midfielder Mike Naylor gave the Rutgers-Camden men’s soccer team a huge lift off the bench last week as the Scarlet Raptors posted victories over both Swarthmore College and Rutgers-Newark, a pair of teams that have been nationally-ranked during the season. In a 2-0 win over Swarthmore on Oct. 22, his perfect through ball led to the eventual game-winning goal by Mike Ryan, giving Naylor his first career assist. He notched his first career goal against Rutgers-Newark Oct. 25, heading in a corner kick by Joe Auleta that proved to be the game-winning tally in a 2-1 victory. That win lifted the Scarlet Raptors into second place in the New Jersey Athletic Conference standings, giving Rutgers-Camden the chance for a first-round bye in the upcoming NJAC playoffs.
