A transfer from Caldwell College, senior guard Wyatt Polk has gotten off to a blistering start for the Rutgers University-Camden men’s basketball team, averaging 22.0 points in the first three games of the season. During the Scarlet Raptors’ two games last week, his scoring average was even more impressive, as he produced games of 36 points against Arcadia University (Nov. 19) and 19 at William Paterson University (Nov. 22) for a 27.5 average. His 36-point performance, which included 12-for-23 shooting from the floor (6-for-8 from three-point range) and a 6-for-8 night from the foul line, was the most points scored by a Scarlet Raptor since Dane Nicholson scored 40 on Jan. 6, 2005. Three days later, against William Paterson, Polk’s 19 points included a pair of foul shots late in the first half, which gave him 1,000 points for his combined collegiate career. He had 938 points in three years at Caldwell College and his 66 in three games at Rutgers-Camden has lifted his career total to 1,004.
