Senior Nick Baird led an outstanding team effort as Rutgers-Camden captured its third consecutive North Eastern Athletic Conference Golf Championship over the weekend. Baird shot a 2-over par 72 in the opening round on Saturday at the Pennsauken Country Club, the best round of the spring for any Scarlet Raptor golfer. He added an 80 in the final round on Sunday to finish with a two-day total of 152, good for second place in the 40-golfer field. His performance helped the Raptors run away with the team title, posting a 305-315—620 score to beat second-place Penn State-Abington by 36 strokes. Baird joined teammates Kevin Sarlo and Chris McDonald on the NEAC First Team, while the Scarlet Raptors’ Kevin Anderson and Louis Wilson both earned NEAC Third Team honors. With its NEAC title, Rutgers-Camden earned an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Golf Championship, which will be held in Greensboro, North Carolina, May 12-15.
