Hall drills two home runs as Raptors outlast Rowan

Rutgers-Camden took the lead for good in the top of the first inning, collecting a walk and five singles to plate three runs off Rowan starter and loser Andrew Lysy (Allentown, NJ/Allentown). The hits included RBI singles by freshman designated hitter Joe Brooks (Blackwood, NJ/Gloucester Catholic), freshman leftfielder Doug Carter (Union, NJ/Union) and Holder.

Rowan got one run back in the bottom of the frame, aided by a bunt single from junior shortstop Ryan Williams (Southampton, NJ/Seneca). It was the only hit allowed by Raptor junior southpaw Ron Reagan (Blackwood, NJ/Highland Regional) until a one-out single in the fourth inning. Reagan, who worked seven innings, allowing seven hits, three walks and five earned runs. He struck out five while hiking his record to 5-1.

Sophomore Kyle Gaff (Gloucester, NJ/Gloucester) worked the final two innings, retiring the Profs in order in the eighth before Rowan collected four unearned runs on an error and four hits in the ninth inning.

Hall went 4-for-4 with three runs and four RBIs to lead the attack as the Raptors collected 17 hits for the second consecutive day. His two-homer game was the second for the Raptors this season, as senior rightfielder Adrian Gonzalez (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken) drilled two against Kean University March 31.

Holder, meanwhile, went 4-for-5 with one run and two RBIs, stretching his hitting streak to five games. Brooks went 3-for-5 with one RBI and two runs scored, extending his hitting streak to eight games. He has hit safely in 20 of the team's 22 games, including an 11-game string from March 16-27.

Sophomore second baseman Joe Sigismondi (Blackwood,  NJ/Highland Regional) was 2-for-6 with one run and one RBI, while Tenuto had two walks, stole two bases, scored twice and went 1-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to seven games.

Junior centerfielder Bobby Romano (Vineland, NJ/Vineland), meanwhile, went 1-for-3, was hit twice by a pitch, and stole three bases.

Rowan collected 11 hits, including a 4-for-5 game, including two runs and four RBIs, by Williams.

The two teams play the back end of their home-and-home series Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Rutgers-Camden.
