Box Score ABINGTON, Penn. – The Rutgers University-Camden baseball team pounded out a season-high 17 hits and took the lead for good with a four-run second inning as it defeated Penn State-Abington, 9-5, in a non-conference game here Wednesday.
The Scarlet Raptors, who have won nine of their last 11 games, improve to 14-6-1, while the Nittany Lions fall to 7-13-1.

Tim Holder (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester Catholic). He advanced to second on a single by freshman catcher
Jon Theckston (Gloucester, NJ/Gloucester Catholic), and both runners moved up on a sacrifice bunt by sophomore third baseman
Brett Tenuto (Audubon, NJ/Gloucester Catholic). Sophomore designated hitter
Joe Sigismondi (Blackwood, NJ/Highland Regional) followed with a two-run double down the left field line and then scored on a single by freshman second baseman
Joe Brooks (Blackwood, NJ/Gloucester Catholic). One out later, Brooks stole second and then scored on a double by junior first baseman
Connor Hall (Delran, NJ/Delran).The Scarlet Raptors worked five pitchers in the game, with senior
Tommy Potts (Bordentown, NJ/Bordentown), the first of four relievers, picking up the victory. Potts (4-0) worked two hitless, scoreless innings, striking out four without walking a batter.
Offensively, Sigismondi, Hall and senior rightfielder
Adrian Gonzalez (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken) ripped three hits apiece. Sigismondi scored three runs and drove home two, while Hall and Gonzalez both added two RBIs. Gonzalez also scored a run.
Sigismondi and Hall both had a double among their three hits, while Gonzalez added a stolen base.
Brooks added two hits for Rutgers-Camden.
The Scarlet Raptors return to New Jersey Athletic Conference action Thursday with a 3:30 p.m. game at Rowan University.
