John Snow (Newark, NJ/Montclair Kimberley) scored 17 of his 21 points in the first half to spark the Rutgers University-Newark men's basketball team to a 14-point lead at the break here Wednesday night.
The Scarlet Raiders went on to post an 81-63 victory over Rutgers University-Camden in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game.
The host team improves to 9-4 overall and 4-2 in the NJAC, winning for the seventh time in its last nine games. Newark leads the all-time series, 46-35.
Rutgers-Camden falls to 2-9 overall and 1-5 in the NJAC.
Behind Snow's 17 points and 12 more from senior forward
Jordan McDaniel (Colonia, NJ/Colonia), Newark built a 45-31 lead at the break. The host team led by as many as 20 points, 57-37, in the second half.
Sophomore guard
Tyler Ofray (Newark, NJ/Church Farm School, Exton, PA) paced the winners with a game-high 22 points, while adding six rebounds and four assists. Snow finished with 21 points and four steals, while McDaniel ended up with 15 points.
Senior forward
David Azoroh (Ewing, NJ/Ewing) had 19 points and four blocked shots for Newark.
Rutgers-Camden received 13 points from senior guard/forward
John Tatem (Camden, NJ/Pennsauken Tech), while freshman guard
Elijah Robles (Clifton, NJ/Clifton) added 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Isaac Destin (Woodlynne, NJ/Collingswood) notched nine points, six rebounds and four steals for the Raptors. Sophomore guard
Charlie Riccardi (Mullica Hill, NJ/St. Joseph-Hammonton), in only his second game since joining the Scarlet Raptors, had nine points, all in the first half.

Abby Bah (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) chipped in with seven points and five rebounds.
The Scarlet Raptors return to NJAC action Saturday when they host Montclair State University at 3 p.m.
