GALLOWAY, N.J. (Oct. 11, 2016) – Stockton University junior
Stephanie Kovacs (Allentown, PA/Central Catholic) collected 14 kills to lead the Ospreys to a 3-0 sweep over Rutgers University-Camden in a New Jersey Athletic Conference volleyball match here Tuesday night.
The Ospreys defeated the Scarlet Raptors, 25-20, 25-19 and 25-14.
Stockton, the eight-time defending NJAC champion, raised its record to 16-7 overall and 4-1 in the conference. Rutgers-Camden fell to 12-12 overall and 2-4 in the NJAC.
Rutgers-Camden received five kills and three digs from junior
Cortnee Wilkerson (Los Angeles, CA/West Adams Prep), while freshmen
Morgan Mulligan (New Gretna, NJ/Pinelands Regional) and
Jordan Erskine (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat) both added four kills.
Seniors
Melanie Kaiser (Somerdale, NJ/Sterling) and
Caitlin Marchlowitz (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) collected nine and eight digs, respectively,
Freshmen
Caitlynn Marcano (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) and
Meghan Gallagher (Sicklerville, NJ/Paul VI) both collected nine assists and four digs.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action with three non-conference matches this weekend at Arcadia University's Knights Invitational. On Friday, Rutgers-Camden faces City College of New York and Brooklyn College at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively. On Saturday, the Raptors play Albright College at 10 a.m.
