Caitlin Marchlowitz (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) became the fourth person in program history to reach the 1,000-dig milestone for her career, but the Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team dropped a four-set battle against Albright College here Saturday morning at Arcadia University's Knights Invitational.
Arcadia won by scores of 25-19, 18-25, 25-12 and 25-22 to raise its record to 8-12. Rutgers-Camden fell to 14-13 after posting a 2-1 record at the two-day Knights Invitational.
Marchlowitz finished with 13 digs to hike her career total to 1,001, while also adding three kills and three service aces. The Raptors' other senior co-captain,
Melanie Kaiser (Somerdale, NJ/Sterling) notched a match-high 17 digs to raise her career total to 1,578, the second-highest mark in program history.
Freshman
Caitlynn Marcano (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown), meanwhile, added 10 digs and collected a team-high 15 assists for the Scarlet Raptors.
Junior
Cortnee Wilkerson (Los Angeles, CA/West Adams Prep) collected a team-high eight of the Raptors' 34 total kills and earned honors on the all-tournament team. Sophomore
Myiah Gatling (Woolwich Township, NJ/Kingsway Regional) had seven kills and three blocks (one solo, two assisted), while freshmen
Jamie Mulligan (New Gretna, NJ/Pinelands Regional) and
Jordan Erskine (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat) both added six kills.
Freshman
Meghan Gallagher (Sicklerville, NJ/Paul VI) notched 10 assists and freshman
Natalie DiGiacomo (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) had a match-high four service aces.
The Scarlet Raptors return to New Jersey Athletic Conference action on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. match at Kean University.
