CAMDEN, N.J. (April 23, 2016) – The Rutgers University-Camden baseball team pounded out 35 hits, took advantage of 13 New Jersey City University errors and gave Head Coach
Dennis Barth his 100th collegiate career victory as the Scarlet Raptors posted an 11-1, 15-3 sweep in a New Jersey Athletic Conference doubleheader here Saturday.
Rutgers-Camden improves to 20-11 overall and 7-7 in the NJAC, while NJCU falls to 14-19 and 0-14. The results mark only the second season sweep for the Raptors in the last eight years of the series, with the other coming in 2010. In each of the other seasons, the teams have split their two conference games.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Sunday when it hosts Misericordia University in a 2 p.m. non-conference game. NJCU plays a non-conference game at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday when it hosts the College of Staten Island.

Rutgers-Camden put the game away early with four unearned runs in the second inning on one hit and three Gothic Knight fielding errors. NJCU made six errors to account for five unearned runs in the first game.
The Scarlet Raptors ripped 16 hits in the game, including a 3-for-4 contest with two runs and two RBIs for junior designated hitter

Andrew Biggs (Millville, NJ/Millville) worked eight strong innings, allowing only five hits, one walk and one unearned run, as he picked up his first victory at Rutgers-Camden. Biggs (1-2), in his first year with the Raptors, struck out one.

The Raptors gave Barth his 100th win in the nightcap, helping him become only the second coach in program history to reach 100 wins, and the fastest one to do so. Barth, in his fourth season, is 100-60-1. The all-time program record-holder for coaching wins is
Keith Williams (1999-2007), who compiled a 162-163-1 record in nine years, reaching his 100th victory early in his seventh season.
The second game was over early, as Rutgers-Camden scored seven runs over the first two innings, aided by eight hits and two errors. The Raptors finished with 19 hits in the game, while NJCU committed seven errors.
Leading the attack was junior leftfielder
Joe Brooks (Blackwood, NJ/Gloucester Catholic), who went 4-for-5 with three runs and one RBI. Coupled with his one hit in the opening game, Brooks' five hits hiked his career total to 176, tying Gerry Gatelein (1993-96) for third on the program's career hit list.

Doug Carter Jr. (Union, NJ/Union) went 3-for-6 with three runs and three RBIs, while Tenuto, Jones, Theckston and senior first baseman
Joe Sigismondi (Blackwood, NJ/Highland Regional) each added two hits.
Senior
Ryan Sullivan (Livingston, NJ/Livingston) hiked his record to 3-0, pitching 7.2 innings of six-hit ball, walking two and allowing two earned runs. He struck out eight.
For the doubleheader, Brooks and Jones had five hits apiece, while Carter, Theckston and Tenuto added four each. Cedeno and Taylor had three apiece.
NJCU senior
Andrew Niech (Avenel, NJ/Colonia) collected two hits in the nightcap, giving him 199 for his career to tie the program record set last year by Michael Martucci (2012-15).
