ASTON, Pa. (Sept. 16-17, 2016) – Sophomore
Myiah Gatling (Woolwich Township, NJ/Kingsway Regional) was named to the all-tournament team as the Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team went 1-3 in four matches played Friday and Saturday at the Knights Invitational at Neumann University. Gatling had 16 kills and 10 blocks (four solo, six assisted) at the two-day event.
The Scarlet Raptors lost to both Swarthmore College and Catholic University of America by 3-0 scores on Friday, snapping their four-match winning streak that had hiked their record above .500. On Saturday, the Raptors swept Baruch College by a 3-0 count before being swept by Widener University, 3-0.
The Scarlet Raptors, 6-7, travel to Rowan University Tuesday for a 7 p.m. New Jersey Athletic Conference match.
Swarthmore College 3, Rutgers-Camden 0
The Raptors dropped three sets against Swarthmore by scores of 25-12, 25-10 and 25-20. Freshman
Jordan Erskine (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat) notched a team-high four kills, while sophomore
Kim Bryfogle (Collingswood, NJ/Paul VI) collected six assists for the Scarlet Raptors. Senior
Melanie Kaiser (Somerdale, NJ/Sterling) led the Scarlet Raptors with 12 digs, while freshman
Meghan Gallagher (Sicklerville, NJ/Paul VI) and Bryfogle added six and five, respectively.
Catholic University 3, Rutgers-Camden 0
The Raptors dropped three straight to Catholic by scored of 25-16, 25-13 and 25-18. Junior
Erin Thompson (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) led the Raptors with 20 digs, while Kaiser had 13 and senior
Caitlin Marchlowitz (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) added 12. Freshman
Jamie Mulligan (New Gretna, NJ/Pinelands Regional) collected six kills for the Scarlet Raptors, while junior
Cortnee Wilkerson (Los Angeles, CA/West Adams Prep) added four.

Caitlynn Marcano (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) both collected two service aces., while Gatling had three kills and three blocks (one solo, two assisted).
Rutgers-Camden 3, Baruch College 0
Facing a team that beat them, 3-2, on opening day, the Raptors turned the tables by sweeping Baruch College, 28-26, 26-24 and 25-17. Erskine led the way with 13 kills, while Gatling had eight and both freshman sisters
Jamie Mulligan and
Morgan Mulligan (New Gretna, NJ/Pinelands Regional) added six apiece. Marchlowitz notched five kills.
Bryfogle led the way with 29 assists and three service aces, while Kaiser had 18 digs and Marchlowitz added 11. Erskine had five blocks (three solo, two assisted), while
Morgan Mulligan and Gatling both had two solo blocks and two assisted blocks.
Widener University 3, Rutgers-Camden 0
Widener swept the Scarlet Raptors, 25-19, 25-22 and 25-16, despite five kills from Erskine, 10 assists by Bryfogle and six service aces from Marcano. Kaiser and freshman
Natalie DiGiacomo (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) had nine and eight digs, respectively.
