DALLAS, Penn. (Sept. 20, 2016) – The Misericordia University men's soccer team scored the game's lone goal in the 31st minute and went on to bump Rutgers University-Camden from the unbeaten ranks with a 1-0 non-conference victory here Tuesday night.
 
The victory improves the Cougars to 4-3. The Scarlet Raptors, who received 15 votes toward the D3soccer.com Top 25 poll released earlier in the day, fall to 4-1-2.
 
Misericordia junior midfielder Tristan Snyder (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia) notched the only goal at 30:36, assisted by junior midfielder Barry Kabinoff (Barto, PA/Boyertown). The goal snapped the streak of consecutive scoreless minutes by Raptor sophomore goalie James Brett (Palmyra, NJ/Palmyra) at 276:08.
 
The Cougars out-shot the Scarlet Raptors, 16-11, while Rutgers-Camden held a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
 
Brett, who was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Monday and added the ECAC Div. III Metro Defensive Player of the Week honor Tuesday afternoon, finished with seven saves. Misericordia sophomore keeper Matt Smith (Bethlehem, PA/Saucon Valley) made three.
 
Rutgers-Camden plays a 7 p.m. NJAC game Saturday at Montclair State University.
