CAMDEN, N.J. (Sept. 27, 2016) – Montclair State University juniors
Hayley Merrill (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) and
Madison Maute (Sparta, NJ/Sparta) collected 13 and 10 kills, respectively, to lead the Red Hawks to a 3-0 sweep over Rutgers University-Camden in a New Jersey Athletic Conference volleyball match here Tuesday night.
Montclair State won by scores of 25-15, 25-15 and 25-14.
Homecoming week
The loss evens Rutgers-Camden's record at 9-9 overall and 2-2 in the NJAC, snapping a string of three straight wins by 3-0 shutout scores. Montclair State improves to 13-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference in winning its eighth straight match. The last six have been 3-0 sweeps.
Rutgers-Camden received eight kills and three blocks (one solo, two assisted) from junior outside hitter
Cortnee Wilkerson (Los Angeles, CA/West Adams Prep), while freshman
Jordan Erskine (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat) added four kills. Freshman sisters
Morgan Mulligan and Jamie Mulligan (New Gretna, NJ/Pinelands Regional) both collected three kills.
Jamie Mulligan added one assist, two digs and one assisted block, while Morgan had one service ace and one dig.

Melanie Kaiser (Somerdale, NJ/Sterling) had 10 digs and three assists. Freshman
Meghan Gallagher (Sicklerville, NJ/Paul VI) added seven assists and one dig.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Thursday when they play a 7 p.m. non-conference match at Gwynedd Mercy University.
