CAMDEN, N.J. (Sept. 6, 2016) – Ursinus College junior outside hitter Allison Raff (Landenberg, PA/Avon Grove) collected a match-high 19 kills and led her team with 16 digs as the Bears outlasted Rutgers University-Camden, 3-0, in a tight non-conference battle here Tuesday night.
 
Ursinus won by scores of 25-22, 25-22 and 27-25 as it raised its record to 3-2. Rutgers-Camden falls to 1-4.
 
The Scarlet Raptors received 13 kills from freshman outside hitter Jassmine Watson (Penns Grove, NJ/Clearview Regional), who compiled a .385 hitting percentage. Freshman outside hitter Jordan Erskine (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat) added 10 kills for the Scarlet Raptors.
 
Setters Caitlynn Marcano (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown), a freshman, and sophomore Kim Bryfogle (Collingswood, NJ/Paul VI) collected 15 and 14 assists, respectively.
 
Senior defensive specialist Melanie Kaiser (Somerdale, NJ/Sterling) compiled a match-high 18 digs, while junior libero Erin Thompson (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) and freshman outside hitter Jamie Mulligan (New Gretna, NJ/Pinelands Regional) both notched 13 digs.
 
Freshman defensive specialist Natalie DiGiacomo (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) tied for match-high honors with three service aces, while freshman outside hitter Morgan Mulligan (New Gretna, NJ/Pinelands Regional) had a match-high two solo blocks and added one assisted block.
 
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Thursday when it hosts Penn State-Abington in a 7 p.m. non-conference match.
