GLASSBORO, N.J. (Oct. 17, 2018) – Shane Doherty scored 5:43 into the first overtime period to lift the Rowan University men's soccer team over Rutgers University-Camden, 2-1, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game here Wednesday night.
The loss snapped the Scarlet Raptors' nine-game unbeaten streak (8-0-1), the sixth-longest string in program history. Rutgers-Camden falls to 11-4-2 overall and 4-2-1 in the NJAC. Rowan improves to 11-4 overall and 5-2 in the NJAC.
The Scarlet Raptors weathered the Profs' onslaught during a scoreless first half, when Rowan held a 12-3 advantage in shots and a 4-2 edge in corner kicks. The game remained scoreless until the 75th minute, when Rowan's Ryan Campbell scored on a breakaway.
It didn't take long for the Scarlet Raptors to even the score. Less than five minutes later, junior back
Trenton Hall scored his first goal as a Scarlet Raptor. Hall

Rowan finished with a 28-13 advantage in shots, while both teams had four corner kicks. Rutgers-Camden senior goalie
James Brett made 11 saves and was aided by one backsave. Rowan keeper Kyle Dennis notched four saves.
The Scarlet Raptors host William Paterson University Saturday in a 1 p.m. NJAC game that also will serve as Senior Day to honor
Cam Allen, James Brett, Fatai King and
Brian Palangi.
