MIDDLETOWN, Penn. (Oct. 20, 2018) – Junior outside hitter
Morgan Mulligan collected 18 kills, 27 digs and three service aces in a tri-match here Saturday, but the Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team lost a tri-match against Misericordia University, 3-1, and host Penn State-Harrisburg, 3-0.
The Cougars won by scores of 22-25, 25-18, 25-20 and 25-20. The Nittany Lions swept the Scarlet Raptors by scores of 25-18, 27-25 and 25-16.
The Scarlet Raptors fell to 9-16 for the season as their losing streak stretched to four matches.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Tuesday when they play a 7 p.m. New Jersey Athletic Conference match at New Jersey City University.
Misericordia University 3, Rutgers-Camden 1
Tara Welliver collected 14 of Misericordia's 49 kills and hit .480, while Karley May set up the attack with 41 assists.
Morgan Mulligan notched 10 kills, hit .333 and had 18 digs for the Scarlet Raptors, while her sister, junior outside hitter
Jamie Mulligan, added nine kills. Freshman outside hitter
Delaney Kolb and freshman middle hitter
Ava D'Ambrosio added eight and seven kills, respectively, while senior outside hitter
Victoria Lake notched six. Kolb hit .350 and D'Ambrosio hit .316.
Sophomore setter
Alyson Lowe collected 22 assists and freshman setter
Kayla Benesz added 15. Benesz and sophomore defensive specialist
Ashley Newman paced the team with two service aces apiece, while Newman added 12 digs.
Senior middle hitter
Myiah Gatling had the Raptors' lone block with a solo block. She also added four kills.
PSU-Harrisburg 3, Rutgers-Camden 0
The Nittany Lions received 30 assists from Alexis Imler during their three-set sweep.
Rutgers-Camden had eight kills from
Morgan Mulligan (pictured above), who hit .350, and seven from
Jamie Mulligan.
Morgan Mulligan added nine digs and a team-high two service aces. Gatling added six kills.
Benesz collected 13 assists and Lowe had 10 assists and eight digs.
Newman notched a match-high 13 digs.
