CAMDEN, N.J. (Oct. 2, 2018) – The Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team used Tuesday night's non-conference match to celebrate Senior Night and the Scarlet Raptors' two seniors did their own celebrating on the court.
Seniors
Myiah Gatling and
Victoria Lake paced the Rutgers-Camden attack in a 3-0 sweep over Medgar Evers College, lifting the Raptors to their third straight win and fourth in their last five matches. Rutgers-Camden won by scores of 25-13, 25-9 and 25-9.
The Scarlet Raptors improve to 6-10, while the Cougars fall to 1-13.

pictured above on the left, paced the team with eight kills, while adding three service aces and two digs. She hit .286. Outside hitter Lake,

Freshmen setters
Brinn Hassan and
Kayla Benesz set up the attack with 16 and nine assists, respectively. Hassan added four service aces, while Benesz notched three.
Junior outside hitter
Morgan Mulligan, who was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday, had a match-high six service aces. She also added four kills and four digs. Her sister, junior outside hitter
Jamie Mulligan, notched five kills and two digs, while freshman outside hitter
Nicole Long collected three kills, one assist and one dig.
Freshman libero/defensive specialist
Morgan Fox led the team with six digs and added one assist, while sophomore libero/defensive specialist
Ashley Newman added three service aces to the Raptors' team total of 22. The 22 aces tied for fifth place among the program's team records for a three-set match. It had been accomplished three times previously, including a match against Medgar Evers on Oct. 5, 2017. Freshmen
Devyn Cobb, Haley Novak band Savannah Hayes each added one service ace to that total, while Hayes also collected three digs and Cobb added one kill.
Sophomore middle hitter
Emma Browning had two kills in as many attempts for a perfect 1.000 hitting percentage.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Thursday night with a 7 p.m. NJAC makeup match at William Paterson University. That match was postponed from September 25 due to condensation on the Pioneers' court.
