MAHWAH, N.J. (Dec. 12, 2018) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's basketball team received 15 points from senior guard
Gabby Greene, including a pair of clutch foul shots with 4.8 seconds remaining, and weathered a big Ramapo College comeback to edge the Roadrunners, 54-51, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game here Wednesday night.
The game was the last one for Rutgers-Camden in the calendar year. The Scarlet Raptors improve to 6-4overall and 3-3 in the NJAC, snapping a two-game losing streak, and won't play again until Jan. 2, when they have a 6 p.m. non-conference game at Arcadia University.
Ramapo falls to 5-5 overall and 1-5 in the NJAC with its third straight loss. Rutgers-Camden has won three straight games and eight of its last nine contests against Ramapo and now leads the all-time series, 39-22.
Rutgers-Camden built a 33-23 halftime lead and when Greene,

Ramapo, however, rattled off 14 straight points, starting and ending with treys by junior guard Stacy Porzl to forge into a 37-36 lead. The teams swapped leads four more times as they ended the third quarter with the host team on top, 41-40.
Greene opened the fourth quarter with a jumper that gave the Raptors the lead for good at 42-41. Junior guard
Fatimah Williams followed with another field goal and the Raptors' lead was no more than five points (49-44 and 51-46) the rest of the way.
With seven seconds remaining, Ramapo junior guard hit one of two free throws to cut the gap to 52-51 and the Roadrunners fouled Greene, who calmly sank two foul shots with 4.8 seconds remaining for the final margin. Porzl's long-distance three-point attempt to tie the game at the buzzer was off the mark.
In addition to Greene's 15 points, the Raptors received 10 points from freshman guard
Wykira Johnson-Kelly, nine from Williams, eight from sophomore guard
Shane Holmes and seven from senior guard/forward
Ariel Robinson. Robinson added a new career high of 15 rebounds, passing her previous best of 14 set against Wilkes University on Nov. 15, 2017. Williams had four assists, while freshman guard/forward
Tamara Johnson set her career high with a game-high five steals. She passed her mark of four set against Penn State-Schuylkill on Nov. 13.
Junior guard Samantha Rinaldi scored a game-high 19 points for Ramapo and added nine rebounds and a game-high six assists. Porzl had 12 points and freshman guard Sarah Minchin scored 10.
Rutgers-Camden shot 20-for-57 from the floor (35.1 percent) and had 30 rebounds, while Ramapo went 20-for-43 (46.5) from the floor and grabbed 33 rebounds. The Raptors, however, won the turnover battle by 10 (23-13) to decide the game.
