Rutgers-Camden drops NJAC match against Montclair State

CAMDEN, N.J. (Sept. 20, 2018) – The Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team saw its losing streak stretch to five matches as it was swept here Thursday night by Montclair State University in New Jersey Athletic Conference action.
 
The Red Hawks, 7-4 overall and 2-1 in the NJAC, won by scores of 25-19, 25-16 and 25-12.
 
The Scarlet Raptors fall to 2-9 overall and 0-3 in the NJAC.
 
Carly Waterman and Jillian Wilson led the Montclair State attack with 13 and 10 kills, respectively. Ashley Griffith had 31 assists.
 
Freshman middle hitter Devyn Cobb and freshman outside hitter Delaney Kolb had five kills apiece to lead the Scarlet Raptors. Freshman setter Brinn Hassan, pictured above setting for Cobb, collected 14 assists and a match-high three service aces.
 
Junior outside hitter Morgan Mulligan notched a team-high 11 digs, while freshman defensive specialist/libero Morgan Fox added 10.
 
Junior outside hitter Jamie Mulligan and senior middle hitter Myiah Gatling tied for the club lead with two block assists apiece.
 
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Saturday with a home tri-match against Brooklyn College and Wilkes University. The Scarlet Raptors face Brooklyn at 11 a.m. and Wilkes at 3 p.m. Brooklyn and Wilkes play at 1 p.m.
