WAYNE, N.J. (Jan. 19, 2019) – Senior guard
Gabby Greene moved into seventh place on the all-time Rutgers University-Camden women's basketball scoring chart, passing two players, to help the Scarlet Raptors defeat William Paterson University, 74-62, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game here Saturday afternoon.
Greene, who started the day with 1,184 points, became the seventh player in program history to pass 1,200 career points as she scored 20, hiking her career total to 1,204. Along the way she climbed two places up the career scoring ladder, passing the 1,193 points by former teammate
Michelle Obasi (2014-18) and the 1,195 points by Brittany Turner (2009-13). Greene is now only 16 points shy of the sixth-place mark of 1,220, set by Megan Rulon (2002-06).
Rutgers-Camden improves to 11-7 overall with its fifth win in six games. The Scarlet Raptors are 6-5 in conference play. The victory over Paterson gave the Raptors the season sweep of the two-game series for the first time since the 2001-02 season.
Paterson, which leads the all-time series, 53-13, falls to 9-9 overall and 5-6 in the NJAC.
Trailing, 12-4, early in the game, the Scarlet Raptors came storming back and took the lead, 14-12, on a three-pointer by Greene. It was part of a 14-point Raptor run which gave Rutgers-Camden the lead for good at 18-12.
Greene,
pictured above, notched her 12th point of the night on a trey with 3:10 left in the first half to give the Raptors a 32-16 lead, passing Turner to move into seventh place on the career list.
Rutgers-Camden held a 37-22 lead at the break with 12 points coming from Greene and nine apiece from junior guard

Tamara Johnson had a team-high six rebounds at the break.
The closest the Pioneers came after that was seven points on a couple of occasions in the third quarter, with the last being 41-34.
Johnson-Kelly scored 14 points in the second half to finish with a game-high 23 points. She also notched 10 rebounds to collect her fourth double-double overall and her second straight double-double She had 20 points and 13 boards on Wednesday night at Rowan University.
Greene's 20 points included 6-for-12 shooting from three-point range, the sixth time in her career she has hit six or more treys in a game.
Williams, meanwhile, added 13 points, while Johnson added seven points and a career-high 10 rebounds. Johnson passed her previous high of nine boards, set against Gallaudet University Nov. 10.
Sophomore guard
Shane Holmes had another strong game with five points and a game-high three steals, while tying senior guard/forward
Ariel Robinson and a pair of Paterson players with a game-high four steals. She also tied her career high of six rebounds, set against Rutgers-Newark on Jan. 5.
Paterson was led by senior guard CeCe Green's 18 points. Green completed a double-double with a game-high 11 rebounds to help the Pioneers hold a 53-41 advantage off the boards.
Senior guard Julie Rovito scored 17 points for Paterson. Sophomore guard Brianna Brooks and junior guard Alisa Giordano both scored 10 points and added four assists, tying the Raptors' Holmes and Robinson for game-high honors.
Rutgers-Camden shot 24-for-57 (42.1 percent) from the floor while Paterson shot only 23-for-72 (31.9).
Rutgers-Camden returns to NJAC action Wednesday, hosting Stockton University at 6 p.m.
