PURCHASE, N.Y. (March 30, 2019) – Rutgers University-Camden sophomore goalie
Brittany Watson set single-game program records with 20 saves and 50 shots faced, but the Scarlet Raptors' lacrosse team dropped a 17-12 decision here Saturday in a non-conference game against Manhattanville College.

The loss drops the Scarlet Raptors to 3-2 with their second straight defeat, while the Valiants even their record at 4-4, snapping a four-game losing streak.

Manhattanville has won all three games in its all-time series with Rutgers-Camden.

Watson's 20 saves broke the program's single-game mark of 18, accomplished twice by Rachel Powell in 2010 and 2011. While facing 50 shots, Watson
(pictured above) passed her own program mark of 48, set against Manhattanville last season on April 4.

The Scarlet Raptors scored the first four goals of the game, as freshmen
Claire Gailliout, Carly Gregg and
Jazmin Torres opened the scoring and senior
Cara Racobaldo made it a 4-0 game only 8:31 into the contest. After a pair of Manhattanville goals sliced the Raptors' lead in half, Racobaldo added two more goals to help Rutgers-Camden regain its four-goal cushion.

By the end of the half, Manhattanville had battled back to forge a 7-7 tie.

Gregg scored two quick goals to open the second half before Manhattanville rattled off six goals in a row to take the lead for good. Lara Keegan collected a pair of goals to tie the game at 9-9 and Bella Cosentino scored the go-ahead tally. After Manhattanville took a 13-9 lead, the closest the Raptors came was within two goals, at 13-11 and at 14-12.

Keenan paced Manhattanville with six goals and two assists for eight points. She also added 12 draw controls.

Brialee Logue added four goals for the Valiants, while Bella Marchiselli made 11 saves to earn the victory.

Rutgers-Camden received four goals and one assist apiece from Gregg and Racobaldo. Racobaldo and senior
Kacie Walton both collected five ground balls, while Watson added four. Torres and Gregg paced the team in draw controls with six and five, respectively.

Rutgers-Camden returns to action Monday with a 4 p.m. game at Neumann University.
