CAMDEN, N.J. (April 11, 2019) – On a night where the Rutgers University-Camden lacrosse team celebrated the accomplishments of its lone senior,
Cara Racobaldo, the Scarlet Raptors and Bryn Mawr College engaged in a tense non-conference barnburner.
When the dust had cleared, the Owls walked away with a 16-15 victory in a wild contest that featured 74 shots, including 29 by each team, 27 saves, 31 goals and 13 players denting the scoring column.

Bryn Mawr improves to 5-5, while Rutgers-Camden falls to 4-5. The Owls are 2-0 in their all-time series with the Scarlet Raptors, with the first game being played back in 2011.
In a first half of surges, Rutgers-Camden scored first on a goal by freshman
Jazmin Torres 3:15 into the contest. Bryn Mawr tallied the next three goals to take a 3-1 edge, only to watch Rutgers-Camden counter with five straight goals. Freshmen
Carly Gregg and
Claire Gailliout scored two apiece in that run, while Torres added one.
Trailing, 6-3, the Owls scored the final eight goals of the half, including four by sophomore midfielder
Kylie Woo. She notched the goal that tied the game at 6-6 and, with 2:05 left in the half, the tally that put Bryn Mawr ahead to stay.
Rutgers-Camden didn't make the visitors comfortable in the second half as goals by Gailliout and Racobaldo cut the margin to 11-8 in the first 10 minutes of the final half. Three straight Bryn Mawr tallies helped the Owls surge back to a seemingly-comfortable 14-8 lead with 15 minutes remaining, but a goal by Gailliout and three straight goals by Gregg sliced the gap to 14-12 with 9:08 left. Bryn Mawr notched the next two goals to make it a 16-12 game before the Raptors nearly pulled off a remarkable comeback in the final 3:38, notching a pair of Gailliout goals and one from Gregg that sliced the gap to 16-15 with 1:13 remaining. The Scarlet Raptors had a pair of shots in the final minute, but Bryn Mawr goalie Jessica Calloway saved both of them.
Rutgers-Camden out-shot Bryn Mawr, 41-33, and Calloway made 14 saves for the Owls. Sophomore
Brittany Watson had 13 saves for the Scarlet Raptors.
Bryn Mawr received goals from nine different players, with Woo leading the way, scoring five goals and adding one assist for six points.
The Scarlet Raptors received six goals apiece from Gailliout and Gregg. Torres added two goals and Racobaldo had one goal and the lone Rutgers-Camden assist.
Junior defender
Kacie Walton had five ground balls and three caused turnovers, while Gailliout and Racobaldo both added four ground balls. Racobaldo and Torres collected six draw controls apiece and Gregg added four. Racobaldo added three caused turnovers to tie Walton for the game high with Bryn Mawr's Sierra Hamilton.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Saturday with a 1 p.m. New Jersey Athletic Conference game at Montclair State University.
