CAMDEN, N.J. (March 7, 2020) – The Manhattanville College women's lacrosse team jumped to a 10-goal halftime lead and went on to defeat Rutgers University-Camden, 21-8, in the Scarlet Raptors' season opener here Saturday.
Manhattanville, which held a 14-4 lead at halftime, improved to 3-1 overall and 4-0 in its all-time series against the Scarlet Raptors.
Rutgers-Camden fell to 0-1 with its first opening-day loss since 2016.
Sophomore midfielder Lara Keenan collected eight goals for the Valiants, while sophomore attack Brialee Logue added four goals and two assists for six points. Freshman midfielder Maura Kelly and junior midfielder Hailey DeStasio both had four assists for Manhattanville. Kelly added three goals for seven points, while DeStasio notched two goals to collect six points. Kelly also had a team-high seven draw controls, one more than Keenan.

Claire Gailliout paced Rutgers-Camden with five goals and one assist for six points, while sophomore midfielder
Carly Gregg had two goals and one assist for three points. Senior defender
Kacie Walton added one goal and one assist for two points.

Jazmin Torres notched three assists for the Scarlet Raptors, while adding a game-high eight draw controls.

Brittany Watson faced 28 shots and made seven saves for Rutgers-Camden.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Tuesday with a 4 p.m. game at Bryn Mawr College.
