CAMDEN, N.J. (Dec. 1, 2021) – The College of New Jersey women's basketball team built a 31-16 halftime lead and opened up the contest with a 28-18 third-quarter run on its way to a 73-49 victory over Rutgers University-Camden here Wednesday night.
TCNJ stretched its winning streak to four games, climbing over .500 for the first time with a 4-3 record. The Lions are 2-0 in New Jersey Athletic Conference play.
Rutgers-Camden falls to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the NJAC.
The Lions have won their last nine games against the Scarlet Raptors and lead the all-time series, 63-12.
Freshman guard Arianna McCleod collected eight of her 10 points in the opening half to spring the Lions to their big lead. TCNJ, which never trailed in the game, opened up a first-half lead as large as 18 points (26-8) and led by as many as 31 points (69-38) late in the game.
Freshman guard Nina Branchizio scored points in the second half to finish as TCNJ's leading scorer with 17. Sophomore guard Izzy Leazier finished with 11 points, while McCleod had 10 points, six rebounds, three assists and four steals.

Jalissa Pitts paced the Scarlet Raptors with 17 points, while sophomore forward
Carleigh Galasso added 12 and senior guard
Tiazha Jackson notched 10. Galasso added a game-high seven rebounds.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Saturday with a 1 p.m. NJAC game at New Jersey City University.
