CAMDEN, N.J. (Dec. 8, 2021) – The Rowan University women's basketball team placed five players in double figures as it raced paced Rutgers University-Camden, 100-57, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game here Wednesday night.
The win evened the Profs' record at 4-4 overall and gave Rowan a three-game winning streak. The Profs own a 3-1 record in the NJAC and have won their last five games against Rutgers-Camden to lead the all-time series, 57-17.
Rutgers-Camden falls to 0-8 overall and 0-4 in NJAC play.
Rowan scored the first five points of the game and led all the way, building its lead to 53-28 by halftime.
Senior guard Grace Marshall led the Profs with 13 points, while junior guard Nicole Mallard had 12 points, seven rebounds and a game-high four steals.
Freshman guard Kate Herlihy and junior guard/forward Dakota Adams both added 12 points for Rowan, while sophomore guard Sam Rinaldi canned 11.
The Profs shot 36-for-76 from the floor (47.4 percent), including 11-for-35 from three-point range (31.4). They held a 38-33 edge off the boards and forced 30 Raptor turnovers.
Rutgers-Camden received 18 points from freshman guard
Rahzirah Blocker, while sophomore guard
Amara Eley added 11 points and sophomore guard
Jania Pitts netted 10. Senior guard
Tiazha Jackson hauled down a game-high nine rebounds, while junior guard/forward
Jalissa Pitts had a game-high four assists.
Rutgers-Camden shot 21-for-47 from the floor (44.7) and 2-for-9 from three-point range (22.2).
Rutgers-Camden plays its final game of December on Saturday with a 6 p.m. NJAC contest at Rutgers-Newark.
