CAMDEN, N.J. (April 20, 2021) – Rutgers University-Camden senior golfer
Chris Colman (Wenonah, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) recorded a stellar outing on Wednesday at the North Eastern Athletic Conference Preview Tournament.
That performance was rewarded today when Colman earned honors as the NEAC Men's Golf Player of the Week.
Colman carded a 2-over par 74 and the 6,756-yard Dauphin Highlands course in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, last week. He earned medalist honors on a match of cards with Penn State-Abington's Nick DeGirolamo. It marked the third time in his career he has been an individual medalist, with the other times coming at the Stockton Invitational (April 11, 2018) and the NJCU Invitational (Sept. 18, 2018).
In 19 career outings at Rutgers-Camden, Colman owns an 82.4 average. He is averaging 80.0 in three invitationals this spring.
A two-time NEAC Scholar-Athlete, Colman has earned seven berths so far on the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director's Honor Roll. A Dean's List student as a Film major and Digital Studies minor, Colman was one of only 29 athletes on the 151-member 2020 Fall AD Honor Roll to earn a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Colman and the Scarlet Raptors will return to Dauphin Highlands at the end of the week to compete in the NEAC Championships. The winning team earns an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Golf Championships.
