CAMDEN, N.J. (June 2, 2021) –Rutgers University-Camden senior first baseman Matt Yanick (Palmyra, NJ/Palmyra) was one of the top sluggers in the New Jersey Athletic Conference throughout his career with the Scarlet Raptors. After capping off his collegiate career with a banner season in 2021, Yanick has added another honor as a member of the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic All-Region Third Team.

Yanick hit .309 during his senior season, while starting all 25 of his games and collecting 19 runs and 19 RBIs. His eight home runs were one shy of the program's single-season record, shared by two players, and he added five doubles, 11 walks and four HBP. Yanick led the Scarlet Raptors in home runs, total bases (59) and putouts (118), was tied for the club lead in runs scored and led all regulars with a .608 slugging percentage. He finished tied for second on the team in doubles and walks, and was third in RBIs.
 
Yanick was named to the NJAC Second Team as a senior, adding to the NJAC First Team honor he earned in 2018.
 
Yanick was a three-time team captain at Rutgers-Camden whose 2021 season included a two-home run game against New Jersey City University (April 10, Game Two) and an eight-game hitting streak from April 17-30. He compiled a slash line of .407/.538/.852 with three doubles, three home runs, nine runs and nine RBIs during that streak.
 
Yanick appeared in 121 games at Rutgers-Camden, starting 100, and compiling a .298 career batting average. He collected 131 career hits (tied for 15th on the program's all-time list), including 18 home runs, the third-highest total in program history. He added 21 doubles and one triple to produce a career .473 slugging percentage. He also walked 35 times, had nine sacrifice flies (fifth in program history) and was hit by 22 pitches (tied for seventh). He owns a career .372 on-base percentage.
