CAMDEN, N.J. (Oct. 15, 2022) – Rutgers University-Camden junior
Andrew Yuen won his match at second singles, 6-1, 6-2, but that was the only match the Scarlet Raptors captured as they lost to York College of Pennsylvania, 8-1, here Saturday.
Rutgers-Camden closed the fall portion of its schedule with a 0-3 record and will return to action during the spring semester.
York is 2-2 heading into its final match of the season, a 12 p.m. home meeting with Catholic University of America Sunday.
The Spartans swept all three doubles matches to start the competition. Raptor junior
Edward McWilliams Jr. and Yuen lost at first doubles, 8-2. Freshmen
Christopher Abacan and
Jojo Nguyen were defeated at second doubles, 8-2, and senior
Hani Qureshi and junior
Matthew Tepfer lost in the third doubles spot, 8-1.
York won five of the six singles matches, with only Yuen posting a victory. McWilliams lost at the top spot (6-0, 6-2), Qureshi fell 6-1, 6-0 at third singles and Abacan lost at fourth singles (6-0, 6-1). At fifth singles, Nguyen lost, 6-1, 6-0, and Tepfer was defeated at sixth singles, 6-2, 6-2.
