NEW YORK, N.Y. (Dec. 28, 2022) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's basketball team placed two players in double figures and nine players in the scoring column as the Scarlet Raptors cruised to a 66-39 non-conference victory at City College of New York here Wednesday afternoon.
The victory broke a seven-game losing streak for the Scarlet Raptors, who hadn't won since a 63-55 triumph at Bryn Athyn College Nov. 19.
The Scarlet Raptors, who hadn't played since Dec. 14, improved to 2-10 overall. The 27-point margin of victory was their largest since a 55-point win, 84-29, against Penn State-Schuylkill on Nov. 13, 2018.
The CCNY Beavers fell to 2-7 with their fourth straight loss.

Rutgers-Camden held leads of 16-13 after one quarter and 35-20 at the half. The Scarlet Raptors led by as many as 28 points late in the fourth quarter (62-34 and 65-37).
Blocker paced the Raptors with 14 points, while
Jalissa Pitts added 13, Galasso, freshman guard
Deja Briggs, sophomore forward
Ariana Garcia and junior guard
Amara Eley all added seven points, with Briggs and Garcia setting career highs.
Rutgers-Camden held a 46-37 advantage off the boards, led by a career-high seven rebounds by senior guard
Abigail Sampona. Galasso added six rebounds, while Blocker, Garcia and Eley notched five apiece and Briggs and
Jalissa Pitts both added four. The five boards were a career high for Eley, while Garcia and Briggs tied their career rebounding highs with five and four, respectively.

Catherine Albizu tied her career highs with four points and three rebounds.
Briggs led the Scarlet Raptors with three assists, while Galasso and junior guard
Jania Pitts both had team highs of three steals.
Jalissa Pitts notched the Raptors' two blocked shots.
The Beavers' sophomore guard Kasia Morrison collected a game-high 22 points, aided by 6-for-8 shooting from three-point range. Junior forward Monae Laing had a game-high nine rebounds and freshman Anna Vikatos had highs of seven assists and four blocked shots for CCNY.
Rutgers-Camden shot 22-for-73 (30.1 percent) from the field, while CCNY was 13-for-41 (31.7), but the Beavers made 32 turnovers to the Raptors' 14. Rutgers-Camden shot 20-for-25 (80.0) from the foul line.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Wednesday, January 4, with a 6 p.m. New Jersey Athletic Conference game at Kean University.
