CAMDEN, N.J. (Nov. 11, 2023) – The Arcadia University women's basketball team broke open an 8-8 tie with an 11-point run late in the first quarter and went on to defeat Rutgers University-Camden, 79-43, in a non-conference game here Saturday.
The loss dropped the Scarlet Raptors to 0-2, while it was the season opener for the Arcadia Knights.
Sophomore guard/forward Delaney Bell hit a layup midway through the opening quarter to put the Knights ahead, 10-8, and spark the 11-point Arcadia run. Bell notched six points in that run on her way to a game-high 15 points at halftime.
Bell finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds for the Knights, while adding four assists and three steals. Sophomore guard Hanna Rhoades added 17 points for Arcadia and grad student center Katie Rodriguez chipped in with 13 points and six blocked shots.
Junior guard Kylie Meredith added nine rebounds for Arcadia, which held a 43-27 advantage off the boards.

Rahzirah Blocker notched a game-high 24 points for Rutgers-Camden as she hiked her career scoring output over the 700-point milestone to 715. Sophomore guard/forward
Taja Brown added 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds for the Scarlet Raptors.
Arcadia shot 28-for-54 (51.9 percent) from the floor, including 8-for-20 (40.0) from three-point range. Rutgers-Camden shot 14-for-54 (25.9) from the floor.
The Scarlet Raptors play a 6 p.m. game at Saint Elizabeth University Tuesday.
