MAHWAH, N.J. (April 21, 2023) – The Rutgers University-Camden men's tennis team closed its New Jersey Athletic Conference schedule here Friday with a 9-0 loss against Ramapo College.
The Scarlet Raptors fell to 0-11 overall and 0-4 in the NJAC, with one non-conference match left on the schedule. They play at Cairn University on Saturday.
Ramapo improves to 8-7 overall and 1-3 in NJAC play.
The Raptors, playing with only five athletes, were forced to forfeit their third doubles and sixth singles matches. In the top two doubles, junior
Edward McWilliams Jr. and sophomore
Sean Boen were defeated at the top flight, 8-1, and freshman
Christopher Abacan and senior
Hani Qureshi lost, 8-0, at second doubles.
McWilliams lost at first singles, 6-0, 6-1, while Abacan and Qureshi lost, 6-0, 6-0, at second and third singles, respectively. Boen dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision at fourth singles and freshman
Thanh Ngo lost at fifth singles, 6-0, 6-0.
