RADNOR, Penn. (Sept. 13, 2023) – The Cabrini University men's soccer team scored a goal in each half and went on to defeat Rutgers University-Camden, 2-0, in a non-conference game here Wednesday.
The loss was the second straight for the Scarlet Raptors, dropping their record to 3-2. Cabrini evened its record at 3-3.
After outscoring its opponents, 7-0, in winning its first three games, Rutgers-Camden has been outscored, 6-0, in losing the last two. One of those losses came at Messiah University, a team now ranked second in the country, on Saturday.
Senior defender John Ameyaw broke a scoreless deadlock at 36:49, notching his third goal of the season off an assist by senior midfielder Nolan Holloway.
The Cavaliers added an insurance goal in the 67th minute when junior defender Kevin Davis scored his first goal of the year. He was assisted by graduate student forward Matt Duddy.
The Cavaliers held a 10-6 advantage in shots, including a 7-2 margin in shots on goal. Rutgers-Camden held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Sean Boen made five saves, while senior keeper MJ Graham had two saves for Cabrini.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Saturday with a 1 p.m. game at Wilkes University.
