YORK, Penn. (Oct. 12, 2024) – The Rutgers University-Camden men's tennis team won two out of three doubles matches to take the point for doubles, but the Scarlet Raptors won only one of their six singles matches as they lost to York College of Pennsylvania, 5-2, here Saturday.
Rutgers-Camden fell to 2-4 on the season with its fourth straight loss, while York ended its brief fall semester schedule with a 3-1 record.
Graduate student
Alex Loope managed the Scarlet Raptors' lone singles win with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at the third spot. Loope also combined with graduate student
Kenil Patwa for a 6-2 win at first doubles, while freshman
Neal Shah and sophomore
Julian Pinder posted a 6-2 win at third doubles. Sophomore
John Brady and junior
Christopher Abacan lost a 6-1 decision at second doubles.
In singles, Patwa lost at the top spot (6-4, 6-4), while Shah lost a 6-3, 6-3 decision at second singles. Brady dropped a 6-1, 6-1 match at the fourth spot, Abacan was defeated at fifth singles, 6-2, 6-0, and Pinder lost a tight match at sixth singles, 7-5, 3-6, 5-10.
The Scarlet Raptors close their fall semester schedule with an 11 a.m. match at Eastern University Saturday, Oct. 19.
