Rohan Castillo picked a perfect time for his first goal of the season.
Castillo scored off a scramble near the goal with only 4:46 remaining in the game to lift the Rutgers University-Camden men's soccer team to a 1-1 tie against Rowan University here Saturday.
The tie leaves the Scarlet Raptors with a 5-4-4 record overall and a 1-0-2 mark in New Jersey Athletic Conference play. Rowan is 4-3-5 overall and 1-0-2 in the NJAC.
The result marks the second straight season the teams have tied, 1-1.
Rowan scored a goal in the 23rd minute on an unassisted tally by junior back Ryan Cleary. That goal held up most of the way until Castillo notched the tying goal in the last few minutes. It was assisted by freshman back
Okafor Norkeh.
Rowan held a 13-9 advantage in shots overall, although Rutgers-Camden held a 7-6 edge in the second half. The Scarlet Raptors held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Sean Boen made six saves, including four in the opening half. Rowan senior keeper Dylan Aportela finished with three saves, all in the second half.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 12, with a 1 p.m. NJAC game at Stockton University.
