Box Score MAHWAH, N.J. (Feb. 3, 2024) – The Ramapo College men's basketball team scored 16 of the first 19 points of the second half, breaking open a halftime tie, and went on to defeat Rutgers University-Camden, 74-56, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game here Saturday.
Ramapo improves to 15-7 overall and 9-6 in the NJAC, snapping Rutgers-Camden's two-game winning streak in the all-time series.
Rutgers-Camden falls to 11-11 overall and 6-9 in the NJAC.
Ramapo raced to an early 18-7 lead before Rutgers-Camden stormed back, tying the game at 33-33 on a jumper by sophomore forward
Cameron Downs with 10 seconds left in the opening half. After both teams scored a pair of points to open the second half, Ramapo broke the 35-35 tie on a three-pointer by junior guard Justin Bladen, sparking a 14-1 run.
Ramapo led by as many as 20 points, 62-42, the rest of the way.
Junior guard Peter Gorman led the Roadrunners with 19 points, while junior forward Shane Rooney scored 14, junior forward Anthony Corbo canned 13 and Bladen netted 11. Corbo added 12 rebounds for a double-double, helping Ramapo hold a 35-34 edge off the boards. He nearly had a triple-double, finishing with eight assists.
Downs led the Scarlet Raptors with 16 points and six rebounds. Junior guard

Keion Elliott tied for team-high honors with four assists apiece.
Ramapo shot 22-for-42 (52.4 percent) from the floor, while Rutgers-Camden went 19-for-63 (30.2).
The Scarlet Raptors return to NJAC action Wednesday with a 7:30 p.m. game at Kean University.
