CAMDEN, N.J. (April 19, 2024) – The Rutgers University-Camden men's tennis team returned to play a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference East Division match here Friday and the Scarlet Raptors were defeated, 9-0, by visiting SUNY-Oneonta.
The loss dropped the Scarlet Raptors to 0-8 overall and 0-2 in the WIAC with one more conference match to play, when the Raptors host Ramapo College Saturday at 12 p.m.
The Raptors' top doubles team of senior
Edward McWilliams Jr. and freshman
John Brady were defeated, 8-1, while the second doubles team of sophomores
Thanh Ngo and
Christopher Abacan lost, 8-0. At third doubles, junior
Matt Tepfer and senior
Tyrone King Jr. were defeated, 8-1.
McWilliams lost at first singles, 6-1, 6-1, while Brady, Abacan and King lost 6-0, 6-0 decisions at second, third and fifth singles, respectively. Ngo and Tepfer, in the fourth and sixth spot, respectively, were both defeated, 6-1, 6-1.
