Friel (6-4) walked two and struck out three in her four-hit shutout. She had to be sharp, as TCNJ sophomore Elizabeth Gosse (4-6) allowed only five hits, two walks and one earned run, while striking out six.
The Scarlet Raptors scored their only run in the fourth inning, sparked by a one-out single from freshman designated player
Alana Gannon. She advanced to second on a ground out and scored on a single by junior third baseman
Luci Hutchinson.
Friel stranded eight runners on base, leaving the bases loaded in both the first and fifth innings.
Gannon went 2-for-3 with one run scored to lead the Rutgers-Camden attack.
TCNJ 6, Rutgers-Camden 0
Knasiak (5-2) didn't walk any batters and struck out nine in her four-hit shutout. She hit one batter, and it was Gray in the first inning, who set a program single-season record by reaching base for the 12th time as a hit batsman. She broke a tie at 11 HBP with Christina Tamburrino, who accomplished that feat in both 2011 and 2013. Tamburrino is the career leader in HBP with 35, while Gray is second on the list with 23.
TCNJ scored all the runs Knasiak needed with a two-run first inning. Senior shortstop Julia Kinnally plated both runs with a single. Kinnally later added a two-run double in the fifth inning to finish the game 2-for-3 with four RBIs.
Raptor junior
Lindsey Rodzon (2-8) took the loss, working 4.1 innings and allowing five hits, six runs (four earned) and two walks. She struck out one.
