CAMDEN, N.J. (September 24, 2024) – Two weeks ago, the Rutgers University-Camden women's soccer team was still looking for its first win. The Scarlet Raptors have had an amazing turnaround since then.
Rutgers-Camden defeated Arcadia University, 2-0, here Tuesday night to run its unbeaten streak to five games (4-0-1) and its winning streak to four as the Scarlet Raptors raised their record over .500 for the first time this season. At 4-3-2, the Raptors are riding their longest unbeaten streak since starting the season at 5-0-1 during the brief Covid season, which was played in the spring of 2021.
Arcadia falls to 3-5.
Rutgers-Camden scored all the goals it needed in the first half and went on to complete its fourth shutout in five games. Senior midfielder
Alyson Petro notched the eventual game-winning goal when she took a corner kick from the right corner and curled it to the far post, where it found the net at 5:25.
Rutgers-Camden dominated the opening half with a 13-2 advantage in shots and scored another unique goal in the 37th minute. Junior back
Gianna Patitucci had a long restart from closer to midfield than the box. She drilled a long kick on goal that flew over Arcadia keeper Jordan Polen and under the crossbar at 36:32.
The goals were the first of the year for both Petro and Patitucci.
Rutgers-Camden finished with a 14-4 shots advantage, including a 9-2 margin in shots on goal. The Scarlet Raptors also had a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

Michaela Graham finished with two saves for her third shutout of the season. She also shared another shutout.
Polen had seven saves for Arcadia.
Rutgers-Camden opens its New Jersey Athletic Conference schedule Friday at 7 p.m. when it hosts Ramapo College.
