CAMDEN, N.J. (Oct. 8, 2025) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's soccer team celebrated
Senior Night here Wednesday and the Scarlet Raptors found another reason to celebrate in the game.
For the first time this season, the Raptors rallied from a deficit to earn a point as they came away with a 1-1 tie in a non-conference game against FDU-Florham.
The tie leaves the Scarlet Raptors with a 1-5-6 record, while the Devils are 5-5-2.
Prior to the game the Raptors honored seniors and junior-eligibile players who are graduating, recognizing the accomplishments of
Kylie Barber, Jordana Fredo, Gianna Patitucci, Morgan Riley, Maresa Savarese and
McKenna Williams.
Both teams had several good scoring opportunities despite the defensive score, but it was FDU that broke the ice in the 37th minute. Sophomore forward Anna Kotaska ran onto a long pass up the middle from sophomore defender Alanna Bishop that sprung her for a breakaway. She buried her second goal of the season in a 1-on-1 against goalie Fredo.
Late in the first half, a foul outside the box gave the Scarlet Raptors a free kick and freshman defender
Meghan Gorman made the most of the opportunity. She scored her first collegiate goal on a high shot at 42:39, tying the game and ending the Scarlet Raptors' scoring drought at 322:54 minutes.
Neither team managed to score in the second half, despite good chances inside the box. Rutgers-Camden finished with a 12-7 advantage in shots, including a 6-5 edge in shots on goal. The Raptors also had a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
Fredo made one save in goal in the first half and freshman
Giselle Lizardi had three second-half saves for Rutgers-Camden. The Devils saw senior Ava Gianni make five saves in the game.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action on Saturday with a 1 p.m. New Jersey Athletic Conference game at Stockton University.
