IMMACULATA, Penn. (Nov. 22, 2025) – The Rutgers University-Camden men's basketball team swapped leads on the way to a two-point halftime advantage and opened up the game in the second half as it went on to defeat Immaculata University, 84-73, in a non-conference game here Saturday afternoon.
Rutgers-Camden improves to 5-1, while Immaculata falls to 1-4.
After Rutgers-Camden scored the first two points of the contest, the Mighty Macs rattled off an 11-point run before the Scarlet Raptors worked their way back into the game. The Raptors finally tied the score at 17-17 with 14:20 remaining in the half on a layup by freshman forward
Makai Crawford. After falling behind again, 29-23, Rutgers-Camden fought back to tie the game at 29-29 on a trey by Crawford.

Caleb Crosby was fouled on a three-point attempt to open the second half and sunk all three of his foul shots. The closest Immaculata came after that was within three points at 49-46. Rutgers-Camden followed with a nine-point run, including four by Downs, to take a 58-46 lead. The Scarlet Raptors led by double digits the rest of the way except for a moment when Immaculata cut the gap to 62-53.
Downs poured in 23 second-half points to finish with a game-high 29 points. The output allowed him to pass two more players on the program's all-time scoring list and move into fourth place. He passed Marvin Young (1,325 points from 1977-81) and Joe Bretschneider (1,333 from 1955-59). Sitting in third place is Brian O'Donnell, with 1,359 points from 1986-90. Downs also added a game-high four steals.
Elliott finished with 10 points and Crawford added nine for the Scarlet Raptors. Elliott helped the team hold a 39-29 advantage off the boards, tying for game-high rebounding honors with eight, while also adding five assists, two blocks and two steals. Sophomore guard
Ryan Senft collected seven points, six rebounds, six assists and one steal.
Junior guard Mandon Seapoe led the Mighty Macs with 20 points, while sophomore guard Christian Chambers added 12. Sophomore guard Domenic Vacchiano scored nine points and tied Elliott for game-high honors with eight rebounds.
Rutgers-Camden shot 28-for-71 (39.4 percent) from the floor and 7-for-13 (from the foul line (53.8) but also hit 10 three-pointers (10-for-36, 27.8). Immaculata shot 31-for-56 (55.4) from the floor and 17-for-19 (89.5) from the foul line. The Mighty Macs also made eight more turnovers (25-17) than the Raptors committed.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action on Tuesday when it plays an exhibition game at Division I Saint Joseph's University. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
