PHILADELPHIA, Penn. (Nov. 25, 2025) – The Rutgers University-Camden men's basketball team took a break from its regular-season schedule here Tuesday night as it played an exhibition game against Division 1 Saint Joseph's University.
Although the Hawks posted a 100-61 victory in a game where the stats and records don't count, Rutgers-Camden still turned in some fine performances against the Div. 1 school.
The Scarlet Raptors took their only lead on the opening field goal of the game by senior forward
Cameron Downs before the Hawks scored the next 19 points. By halftime Saint Joseph's held a 53-28 lead.
Downs finished with 14 points for Rutgers-Camden, while adding a team-high four rebounds. Sophomore forward
Robert Peirson scored 12 points, grabbed two rebounds and had the Raptors' lone blocked shot.

Caleb Ambrosius netted six and freshman forward
Makai Crawford notched five points, three rebounds, two steals and a team-high four assists. Freshman forward
Mehki Carter collected four points, three assists, two rebounds and a game-high three steals.
The Hawks placed five players in double figures, while 12 players broke into the scoring column. Sophomore center Jaden Smith and sophomore guard Jaiden Glover-Toscano both scored 16 points to tie for game-high honors. Senior guard Derek Simpson had 11 points and a game-high eight assists, while sophomore guard Dasear Haskins and sophomore guard Deuce Jones II both scored 10 points. Jones added a game-high seven rebounds.
Rutgers-Camden (5-1) returns to regular-season action after the holiday break when it opens its New Jersey Athletic Conference schedule on Wednesday, Dec. 3. The Scarlet Raptors host Rowan University in an 8 p.m. game.
