CAMDEN, N.J. (March 12, 2025) – The Rutgers University-Camden baseball team ripped 23 hits and produced a nine-run fifth inning on its way to a 20-3 victory over Rosemont College here Wednesday afternoon.
The Scarlet Raptors, who received 37 votes toward the D3baseball.com Top 25 poll this week, improved to 8-1 with their fifth straight win. The Ravens fell to 5-6.
Rutgers-Camden's 20 runs are the most for the Raptors since another 20-3 victory, coming against Cairn University on March 18, 2023. The nine-run fifth inning was the biggest since the Scarlet Raptors opened a game at York College of Pennsylvania on March 6 with an 11-run first inning.
Sixteen Scarlet Raptors collected at least one hit, with junior left fielder
Jacob Watson leading the way with a 4-for-4 game, scoring three runs and driving home two. He also added a stolen base to increase his program career record to 85.

Evan Carbone had two hits apiece, with Pinkney drilling a solo home run in the eighth inning for his first home run since transferring to Rutgers-Camden.

Rutgers-Camden took the lead for good with a three-run first inning, sparked by table-setting singles from Watson and Shaffer. Romond drove home the first run with a sacrifice fly before the Raptors received back-to-back RBI doubles from graduate student designated hitter

Diego Salazar.
The nine-run fifth inning featured seven hits, three hit batsmen and a walk. The big blows in the inning were two-run doubles by Petrick and Joseph.

Tyler Griswold working the longest, throwing 2.2 innings of two-hit shutout ball.
The Scarlet Raptors' week-long spring break trip starts Saturday in Winter Haven at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. They will play the University of Mount Union (Alliance, Ohio) at 4:30 p.m.
