CLERMONT, Fla. (March 19, 2025) – Senior
Lindsey Rodzon hurled a four-hit shutout as the Rutgers University-Camden softball team won its first game of the season on its last day at the PFX Spring Games.
Rodzon blanked the Milwaukee School of Engineering, 3-0, in the Scarlet Raptors' opening game of the day. In the second game, Wisconsin-La Crosse used a three-run second inning to edge past Rutgers-Camden, 4-1.
Wednesday's split leaves the Scarlet Raptors with a 1-12 record as they return home. They will play a doubleheader in Camden on Tuesday against Gwynedd Mercy University, beginning at 4 p.m.

Rodzon hurled her second career shutout, allowing only two hits after the first two Raiders singled to open the game. She didn't allow another hit until the Raiders collected leadoff singles in the fifth and sixth innings.
Rodzon (1-1) didn't walk any batters and struck out four.
Rutgers-Camden scored all the runs Rodzon needed with two tallies in the bottom of the second inning off freshman losing pitcher Brynn Timmer (1-3). Sophomore third baseman
Alana Gannon opened the frame with a single and advanced to second when senior catcher
Kendall Lafferty reached on an error. After a double steal, Gannon scored on a passed ball, which moved Lafferty to third. Junior first baseman
Bella Lynch drove home Lafferty with a grounder to second base.
Rutgers-Camden tacked on another run in the third inning after back-to-back singles by Gannon and Lafferty, and a walk to Lynch loaded the bases with two outs. Sophomore Katie Pollock relieved Timmer and immediately hit freshman center fielder
Ryleigh Lender to force home a run.

Wisconsin-La Crosse 4, Rutgers-Camden 1
The Eagles (11-5) used two hits, two walks and an error to take a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning. Sophomore first baseman Lindsay Steien drove home two runs with a single and a third run scored on the same play on a throwing error.
Rutgers-Camden scored its lone run in the fifth inning following a leadoff double by Lynch. One out later she scored on a double by senior third baseman
Luci Hutchinson.
Wisconsin-La Crosse added its final run in the bottom of the sixth inning off sophomore pitcher
Molly Skelly (0-2), who hurled a five-hitter in her six-inning complete game. She walked two, struck out two and allowed four runs, only three earned.
Sophomore Brynne Bieri (2-1) worked five innings, allowing four hits and one earned run for the win. She struck out two and didn't walk anyone. Freshman Kaeley Niemiec earned her first collegiate save with two perfect innings.
Lynch went 2-for-3 with one run scored to account for half of the Scarlet Raptors' hits and their lone run.
