Scarlet Raptors open outdoor track season at Stockton Invitational

GALLOWAY, N.J. (March 22, 2025) – The Rutgers University-Camden track teams opened their outdoor season here Saturday at the Stockton University Invitational.
 
In the men's 800-meter run, junior Jacob Dinerman finished first in a field of 51 athletes, posting a PR time of 1:55.50, while freshman Kristopher Ewell placed third (a PR of 1:58.75) and freshman Josiah Saint Elien was 10th (a PR of 2:05.08) to lead five Scarlet Raptors in the event.
 
Sophomore Dyheim Watson finished seventh of 18 in the hammer throw (a PR of 41.75 meters), 17th of 30 in the shot put (a PR of 11.86 meters) and 19th of 27 in the discus (32.64 meters).
 
Junior Walter Pierce finished 22nd of 47 in the 100-meter dash (11.56), 24th of 30 in the shot put (10.30 meters) and 25th of 30 in the long jump (5.42 meters), establishing a PR in all three events.
 
Sophomore Hector Diaz finished eighth out of 16 athletes in the 110-meter hurdles (16.00).
 
Junior Kayla Franklin, making her Rutgers-Camden track debut, established her PR distances by placing sixth of 26 in the javelin (31.49 meters) and seventh of 33 in the discus (31.48 meters).
 
Senior Francis Hill placed 11th of 28 in the shot put (a PR of 9.47 meters) and 14th of 26 in the javelin (a PR of 25.37 meters).
 
Sophomore Sydnie Marshall finished sixth out of 20 runners in the 400-meter dash with a PR of 1:02.39.
 
Junior Deleon Foster, fresh off her maiden season on the Rutgers-Camden women's basketball team, led five Scarlet Raptors in the women's 100-meter dash, finishing 14th of 29 to establish her PR at 13.64.
 
Senior Evelyn Macias Pilco led five Scarlet Raptors in the 34-athlete field of the 200-meter dash, placing 26th in a time of 30.55.
 
In relay events, the men's 4x400 finished fifth of 12 teams (3:29.84) with a quartet of Pierce, Dinerman, Ewell and Diaz.
 
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Friday and Saturday to compete in the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener University.
