SALISBURY, Md. (March 29, 2025) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's tennis team had a long trip and a tough opponent as it opened its spring semester schedule here Saturday with a 7-0 loss at Salisbury University.
The Sea Gulls improved to 9-3, while the Scarlet Raptors fell to 6-4.
Salisbury took the one point for doubles by sweeping all three matches, as freshman
Jilliane Jaugan and
Grace Albert lost at the top spot, 6-0, and junior co-captains
Katie Moore and
Ashton Sirko were defeated at second doubles, 6-1. At the third spot, junior
Bryn Kelleher and freshman
Emma D'Amico dropped a 6-1 decision.
In singles, Jaugan lost at the first spot, 6-2, 6-1, and Moore was defeated at second singles, 6-0, 6-0. Albert lost at third singles, 6-2, 6-0 and Kelleher dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision at fourth singles. At the fifth flight, Sirko was defeated, 6-0, 6-2, while D'Amico lost, 6-0, 6-1, at sixth singles.
The Scarlet Raptors jump back into action tomorrow at 12 p.m. when they play a New Jersey Athletic Conference match at NJAC power The College of New Jersey.
